There's barely two months of domestic football to go before the internationals get cracking in preparation for the World Cup, so Europe's top leagues are getting exciting and here's what not to miss this weekend.

Italian champions and current leaders Inter travel to Champions League chasing Palermo in a crucial game for both sides in Serie A. Despite Inter's midweek success in the ECL, recently in domestic competition they've struggled with just one win in six. Their grasp on top spot is under threat with Milan one point behind.
Therefore the journey to Sicily to face the unbeaten-at-home Palermo couldn't come at a worse time for Jose Mourinho's men. Fourth-placed Palermo need to keep fifth-placed Juventus at bay, so three points is paramount here and this is a real test of their ability to push for Europe.
PSV Eindhoven v FC Twente
Dutch Eredivisie
Saturday, 7.45pm (CET)
Saturday marks a critical date in the Eredivisie title race as second-placed PSV Eindhoven host leaders FC Twente at the Philips Stadion. Two PSV losses on the trot has offered Twente a five point advantage in the title race, but this game is a chance for the Eindhoven club to gain some ground. It's also a chance for Twente to blow it open.

The story of the night was 22-year-old Lionel Messi's brilliance and really his performance along suggests the Catalans can go all the way.
Messi drew praise from boss Josep Guardiola: "Leo was brilliant and he was decisive. You have to see it (the Messi phenomenon) - it is not something you can describe because you have to see it to believe it.”
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger echoed his sentiments: "For me, he is the best player in the world by a distance. We lost against a team that is better than us and has the best player in the world. Congratulations to Barcelona, they were better than us." NFL jerseys
Looking ahead, Guardiola added: “We have time to prepare for Inter. The group games [against Inter] were difficult. We are confident of playing good football and continuing to show that to Europe and the world.”

Spurs, fresh from defeating Chelsea and Arsenal, visit Old Trafford to take on the mighty Manchester United. The Red Devils have to closed to within a point of leaders Chelsea, while Tottenham are fourth, two points ahead of another Manchester outfit, City.
Manchester United can, temporarily at least, return to the summit with victory and they'll be boosted in that quest with the return to fitness of Wayne Rooney, along with Rio Ferdinand. Spurs recent giant-killing form suggests it won't be easy for the Red Devils.
Red Bull Salzburg v Rapid Wien
Austria Bundesliga
Friday, 8.30pm (CET)
Not often will there be a match from Austria in this section, but this weekend's top of the table clash with five games to go deserves some attention, especially on a Friday evening.
Red Bull, led by star striker Marc Janko, currently hold a six-point advantage on Rapid and could all but seal the title with victory here. Rapid's prolific pair Steffen Hofmann and Nikica Jelavic might have something to say about that though. A victory for Rapid would reignite the title race.
With three rounds of football to play in Germany's Bundesliga, every weekend now is crucial, but this clash has plenty at stake as Hertha Berlin have one final shot at survival, while Schalke hope to keep in touch at the top.
Felix Magath's Schalke remain two points behind Champions League semi-finalists Bayern and know nothing less than victory will do. Hertha, though, will be desperate for victory as they are five points from safety. Realistically it is their final shot at survival, with a win essential. A loss will virtually spell the end for the capital club.

Sunday marks a real test to the title credentials of upstarts Bursaspor as they journey to the Ali Sami Yen to face third-placed Turkish giants Galatasaray.
Cimbom are five points behind leaders Bursaspor with four games to play, with Galatasaray's rivals Fenerbahce in second, one point off the top. Galatasaray's Harry Kewell may return from injury, while Bursaspor who've won at both Fenerbahce and Besiktas this season will hope to complete the big Istanbul treble.

Browns Sign Another Belichick Protégé
Wednesday, January 7, 2009 -- After firing head coach Romeo Crennel, who was formerly a coordinator for the New England Patriots under head coach Bill Belichick, the Browns have hired another former Belichick assistant—Eric Mangini. Mangini, who was let go by the New York Jets after the team's final game of soccer jerseys
